The picture of the bike says is all about this race. I got out of the water in decent position around 8th and quickly moved into 6th place and was making progress towards the front. Around the halfway point I had a major malfunction with my rear wheel cover and ended up really slowing down because of it. I got passed by two other guys towards the end of the bike. Onto the run I stayed positive and had one of my better 70.3 runs, especially considering the hilliness of the Lake Stevens course. I reeled in the two that had passed me late in the bike, but that was all I was able to manage. I ended up finishing 6th my best placing at 70.3. Afterwards Shannon and I went out and celebrated my 30th birthday. Overall it was a great weekend.
