About

I was born in 1984 in Southern California. Before School age my parents moved our growing family to North Idaho where I was raised and live now. Early on I competed in the traditional American sports of baseball, basketball, and football. By high school my passion was baseball and was where I excelled. I ended up burning out a bit and turned down scholarship offers and shortly after in 2003 married my high school sweetheart Shannon. A few years of no competition led me to look for something new. When Ironman Coeur d’Alene came to town a new passion was born and I haven’t looked back. In four short years I have changed tremendously as a person and an athlete and in 2010/2011 I had successful races at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii.   2012 was my first year as a professional.  An absolutely life changing event came in May of 2012 when I was diagnosed with testicular cancer.  Through support of my amazing community, coach, training partners, and family I was able to once again race by the end of the year.  Going forward in 2013 I am looking forward to a healthy season of racing and am more thankful than ever for the opportunities.
